DROPSTUFF.nl is an initiative and concept of René van Engelenburg, developed in cooperation with Edwin Jacobs, director of the Centraal Museum Utrecht. The project is realized by Stichting Pleinmuseum in close cooperation with the following museums or institutions for contemporary art:
Museum De Paviljoens in Almere, the Armando Museum and KadE in Amersfoort, the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam in Amsterdam, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, SM’s in Den Bosch, Marres in Maastricht, the Stedelijk Museum De Lakenhal in Leiden and the Centraal Museum in Utrecht.
Stichting Pleinmuseum initiates and realizes platforms or podia as temporary interventions in the public domain. For each initiative, the public domain and its context form the point of departure. The relationship between space and public is in each case considered as an experiment within the framework of the modernization of museums. We are constantly seeking a creative ‘carrier’ for a creative project, the deepening of interaction techniques and more stratification of content and technical creativity, in both first and second life.
