During his study at the Academy of fine arts in Groningen (the Netherlands), Sije Kingma started experimenting with video and animation. After Kingma finished his study in 2005, he continued working with this medium and started to explore the more narrative forms of video art. Inspired by toys, puppetry and comic books, Kingma creates surrealistic worlds where the pure soul of a child and the harsh moments of reality stand closely together. Kingma lives and works in Groningen, the Netherlands.
A surrealistic montage featuring the worlds of comics and boy wonders. A study on antagonist characters and their power. These fragmented visions draw from both the subliminal consciousness and the living memories of childhood heroes. Sije Kingma 2008.
